ASA 3D Printing Service - UV and Heat Resistant
We manufacture components from ASA plastic using 3D printing and also offer variants with different material combinations to meet individual requirements. ASA is distinguished by its chemical, weather, and UV resistance and is therefore ideally suited for applications in engine compartments and outdoor areas.

Are there ASA mixtures suitable for 3D printing?
Technical data sheets from ASA
How heat-resistant is ASA?
ASA has a glass transition temperature of about 90 °C, making it suitable for applications with moderate thermal requirements.
ASA or ABS – which material is better?
ASA offers several advantages over ABS, primarily due to its higher temperature resistance and excellent UV stability, making it ideal for outdoor use. However, ASA is more expensive than ABS. Neither material is resistant to acetone, which attacks and softens their surfaces.
Where is ASA used?
ASA is suitable for applications requiring robust material under constant sunlight or elevated temperatures, e.g. outdoor housings, heat-resistant components in the engine compartment or electronic housings, where it impresses with its good electrical insulation properties.
Can ASA be painted?
ASA can be easily painted and processed similarly to ABS. For a smooth surface, it should be filled and sanded before painting. It is advisable to inform the painter that ASA was used so that the material can be prepared accordingly.
Are there ASA mixtures suitable for 3D printing?
ASA with carbon fiber content
This mixture improves the stiffness and strength of the material, making it ideal for durable components that also need to be lightweight.
ASA with Kevlar fibers
The addition of Kevlar increases impact resistance and reduces the weight of the printed object. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring a lightweight yet durable material.
ASA LW Lightweight
This variant is specifically designed for applications where weight is critical. It offers a lower density without significantly compromising mechanical stability.
Recycled ASA
This more sustainable option uses recycled ASA material, which reduces the environmental impact without sacrificing the essential material properties.
